What is Integrative Medicine?
The Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine defines Integrative Medicine as "healing-oriented medicine that takes account of the whole person, including all aspects of lifestyle. It emphasizes the therapeutic relationship between practitioner and patient, is informed by evidence, and makes use of all appropriate therapies." Andrew Weil, the father of Integrative Medicine, describes Integrative Medicine as "the intelligent combination of conventional and alternative medicine...it is trying to restore the focus of medicine on health and healing, away from disease symptom management."

What will Integrative Medicine do for you?
An Integrative Medicine consult is an opportunity to “fill in the gaps” in your healthcare plan. Through an Integrative Medicine consult, you can explore the answers to questions such as: “What else can I do to treat my medical illness?” "What can I do to prevent disease?" “What should I be eating to address my medical problem or promote health in general?” “Why am I sick?” "How best can I heal?"
An Integrative Medicine consult will create a holistic health plan specialized for you. Examples of the complementary practices utilized at Nicole Cotter MD include nutrition, lifestyle medicine, mind-body medicine, supplements, botanicals and advanced laboratory testing.
